LOVELAND, OHIO - "FLAVOR INVISIBLE" TO HAVE PUBLIC SCREENING ON MAY 21
LOVELAND, OHIO - A feature-length movie produced by students at Loveland Middle School will have its world premier on Sunday, May 21 at Loveland Middle School . "Flavor Invisible" is a comedy about three seventh-graders who discover a way to make invisible ice cream, as part of a "strange food" contest.

The movie was conceived, written and directed by 14-year-old Gretchen Kessler of Loveland, when she was still in the seventh grade. Gretchen, who will enter the ninth grade this fall, also stars in the film.
"My friends and I were in a park one day watching my sister play soccer, and we started talking about making a movie," Gretchen said. "People around us were eating snacks, and we were hungry, and that's how we came up with the idea of a weird food competition."
Having had no previous filmmaking experience, Gretchen relied on help from her father, Bob Kessler, a professional cinematographer and videographer who has worked on television commercials and major motion pictures. In turn, he enlisted the help of several friends who work as film technicians and actors, to help give "Flavor Invisible" a more polished look.
"We didn't want it to look like an amateur home video," Bob says. "The lighting and sound had to be good. We are very happy with the results."
Despite help from a few professionals who volunteered their time, most of the actors and crew were teenagers from Loveland. They include Beau Cybulski, Katie Brandt, Missy Durst, Ashley Paulson, Elliot Butler, Samantha Demmerle, Sarah Stetz, and Emily Forrester. Hanna Back, who stars as the "bad girl" Angelica, is a former Loveland Middle School student now living in Singapore. Erica Patterson, Lisa Patterson and Tatum Davis, students at the Waldorf School of Cincinnati, also star.
Among the professional actors in "Flavor Invisible" are Bob Elkins and Kenny Tessel. Elkins plays a television news anchorman. He has previously appeared in such productions as "Coal Miner's Daughter" and "Tattered Angel." Tessel plays a science teacher in "Flavor Invisible." Previously he had guest roles on several network television series in the 1980s, including "Charles In Charge" and "Manimal." He also used to work as personal chef for comedian Roseanne and for Jeanne Martin, the ex-wife of the late entertainer Dean Martin.
Most of the shooting of "Flavor Invisible" took place around Loveland. Locations included Nisbet Park, Loveland Middle School, the Intercommunity Cable Regulatory Commission TV Stage and various homes in the area.
The world premier is free and open to the public. It will take place in the auditorium of Loveland Middle School, rear entrance, 801 South Lebanon Road in Loveland, at 7:00 PM. on Sunday, May 21. Seats will be available on a first come-first serve basis. The Kesslers plan to show "Flavor Invisible" on public access television, and enter it in film festivals.
