Between February 23 and April 3, flocks of plastic pink flamingos will be soaring into front lawns all over Loveland. For a $10 donation, the Loveland High School Afterprom committee will decorate your Loveland friend, neighbor or a teacher’ s front yard with a Flock of Flamingos that will remain there for 24 hours. Co-Chair of the PTA Flocking Fundraiser Cindy Newbold said, "We hope that your flocked friend will also help Afterprom by donating a $20 'removal fee" Insurance to protect against flocking is also available for $15.00.
After Prom is a drug and alcohol-free evening/overnight provided for Loveland High School juniors and seniors regardless of whether or not they attend the Prom. This year’s Afterprom will be held on May 16, and is meant to provide a safe and fun alternative to other, less desirable after prom activities. In order to provide this event for our high school students each year, we rely on donations and fundraisers like this one.
Newbold said, “I personally help with Afterprom because I believe it is a great way to provide a fun, safe environment for upperclassman to continue their prom experience.”
To send a Flock of Flamingos to any resident in the Loveland school district or to purchase flocking insurance, download and return the Flamingo Flocking form on the Afterprom website.
