The Grailville Retreat and Program Center invites you to attend the second in Grailville’s 2009 Homegrown Permaculture Workshop Series, Food: From Soil to Kitchen on Saturday, May 2, 2009 from 9:30 am-4:00 pm.
Permaculture is a philosophy and method of designing systems for sustainable urban, suburban or rural living. Permaculture practitioners Mary Lu Lageman and Suellyn Shupe will guide participants to produce, procure and preserve food in an earth-sustaining fashion.
Activities will include lectures, small group sessions and hands-on learning using some of Grailville’s 300 plus acres of woodlands, pastures and organic gardens.
Future workshops in this series are:
- August 8, Water: De-commodifying water: plan your system for best use of rain water, and purchased water to maintain yourself and your crops.
- October10, Energy: Capturing energy: recognize and work with the energy sources inherent in your system to maintain yourself and the world around you.
