WILLIAMSBURG, OHIO - Interact with historical figures like Simon Kenton and Daniel
Boone, and try your penmanship with a quill and a bottle of ink.The Seventeenth annual
Grassy Run Rendezvous offers many such opportunities as it unfolds on April 25 and 26
at the Community Park in Williamsburg, located off State Route 32 in Clermont County.
"This is the largest outdoor historical event in the Cincinnati area," said Ron Shouse,
president of the Grassy Run Historical Arts Committee. "Over 200 historical re-enactors
will take part in the event that harkens back to a time over 200 years ago when settlers to
this area had to work hard to carve out a living for their families in a dangerous rugged
frontier."
Over 5,000 visitors are expected to attend the event that grows each year. "It is so much
fun to watch the kids learn how to make bead necklaces and taste things like jerky and
parched corn," said Shouse. "It's an opportunity for them to experience all the things they
read about in their history books."
The event runs from 10 AM until 6 PM on Saturday (April 25) and from 11 AM until 5
PM on Sunday (April 26). Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for those between the ages of 6
and 17, and free for those under the age of 6. All Scouts and leaders in uniform will be
admitted for $1.
A school day only program will take place on April 24 from 9AM -3PM. All public, private,
and home school groups are welcome. This event is preregistration only.
You must call 513-724-3740 to get your group registered.
