Robin Lacy & DeZydeco in Loveland Sunday

Robin-4037 LOVELAND, OHIO – The six-piece group, Robin Lacy & DeZydeco, that includes the accordion, saxophone and rubboard found mainly in the Zydeco and Cajun-styled bands of Southwest Louisiana will play in Roger Nisbet Park on Sunday at 6 PM.

Along with traditional Zydeco, roots rock 'n' roll, blues and classic country covers,  the band plays a number of original songs featured on their latest recordings.

Roger Nisbet Park is along the Loveland Bike Trail in Historic Downtown Loveland, along the State and National Scenic River, the Little Miami. (MAP)

9/11 in Loveland, Ohio

    Loveland, Ohio - After almost 3,000 people were murdered by terrorists who hijacked airplanes on September 11, 2001 and flew them into the World Trade Center in N.Y., the Pentagon, and on a plane heading for the U.S. Capital crashed near Shanksville in rural Pennsylvania killing 40 when passengers overwhelmed the murderers before they could complete their mission - Loveland and Symmes Firefighters vowed to, "Never Forget." On September 11, 2011 they further kept their vow by organizing a solemn and healing memorial service for the community at Nisbet Park, and at the Loveland Firefighters Memorial nearby - to honor their 343 fallen, firefighter brethren who perished that day attempting rescues in N.Y. City. It was a quiet service of prayer, music, and a brief talk by Retired FDNY Battalion Chief Steve Mormimo, the keynote speaker. Mormimo retired on a “medical” as the result of injuries he sustained during his rescue and recovery efforts at "Ground Zero". Although, many politicians asked to be allowed to give speeches during the service, none were allowed, and no one sat as dignitaries on the stage. Approximately 500 people were in attentendence. There was a “Helmet Blessing” and unveiling of a new additions to the Loveland Firefighters Memorial to recognize area firefighters who have lost their life in the line of duty over the last few years. Sgt. Hartman

    "Of every 100 men, 10 shouldn't even be there, 80 are nothing but targets, nine are real fighters," the e-mail said. "Ah, but one, one of them is a Warrior and he will bring the others back." ...was a quote from Hericletus in 500 B.C. This is the way Sargent Jonathan Hartman ended every e-mail home to his mother. He was killed Saturday April 17 when his convoy was ambushed near Diwaniyah in southern Iraq. Sargent Hartman's funeral service was held last week at the First Baptist Church in Waynesville, Ohio and he was buried nearby in the Miami Cemetery in Corwin.
