LOVELAND, OHIO - The boy’s golf team at Loveland High School has been one of the quiet successes in the recent years. Loveland has won, or shared the FAVC Buckeye division title in 5 out of the last 6 years. And, that continued this year, as Loveland went 5-0 in conference play, crowning them again champions.Loveland returned all 6 starters from last years team, as the Tigers started out strong beating all 16 teams in the FAVC Pre Season Shootout at Weatherwax Golf Course in Middletown.
Ryan Denney had been the leader from day one. Ryan, who made the Varsity team as a freshman has been one of the best players Loveland High School has ever seen. Ryan currently leads the FAVC in average with a 37.7 average per 9 holes of golf.
Ryan has been accompanied nicely by fellow seniors Logan Thomas, Mitch Louis, and Daniel Canada. All three who have contributed big rounds at the right times, and have remained a consistent part of this team.”
Thomas Rooney is a junior who is second on the team in average with a 38.4 average.
The Tigers won the Buckeye Division FAVC Tournament on with a score of 318, leading second place Milford who shot 334. Mitch Louis led all golfers with a score of 78. Ryan Denney and Thomas Rooney scored 79.
Denney (73) and Rooney (76) qualified for the District tournament to be held at Weatherwax Golf Course in Middletown on Wed. Oct. 14th.
The Tigers are coached by 2008 FAVC Coach of the Year, Andrew Fredette.
