LOVELAND, OHIO - Those who were lucky enough to snag tickets to the sold out shows of “Oliver!” had or are in for a riotous time in the Loveland Middle School Drama production. It starred Peter Hoffman as Oliver, and was directed by Ginger Kronke and Shawn Miller.
Your night starts with you entering a 19th century English town and then your sent off into the packed theater. The classic story is beautifully told with singing and dancing. The night featured hits such as “Food, Glorious Food,” “Oliver,” and “You’ve Got to Pick a Pocket or Two.”
I compliment the performance on their pinpoint choreography, the realistic set, and most of all, the quick pace. There was truly no dull moment in the production. It’s also necessary to give regards to the acting and singing. Both of which captured the dark and comedic essence of the story.
Every scene featured at least one musical number which was a favorite among audience members. The musical had over an astounding 90 members in the cast and crew, which is the amount in the actual Broadway production. Other cast and crew included Brian Conner, Thomas Worsham, Nico Mastrucci, and Austin Lutz to name a few of the army of actors.
The show runs to November 7th.
