A public hearing will be held on the proposed 2013 Clermont County Tax Budget at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27. The hearing will be held in the third floor session room of the Board of Clermont County Commissioners, located at 101 E. Main Street in Batavia. Clermont County citizens are encouraged to review the draft budget on the website bcc.ClermontCountyOhio.gov/budgetprocess.aspx. If you cannot attend the public hearing, send your comments and questions about the budget to Board of Clermont County Commissioners, 101 E. Main Street, Batavia, Ohio 45103 or e-mail bccbudget@ClermontCountyOhio.gov.
As required by Ohio law, all county elected officials, departments, and boards who are required to have their budgets established by the Board of County Commissioners, have submitted their requests for next year. The proposed 2013 Clermont County Tax Budget contains those requests, including current 2012 estimates, two prior years of actual revenues and expenses, as well as a General Fund summary. Both documents, along with additional information regarding the budget process, can be found on the website bcc.ClermontCountyOhio.gov/budgetprocess.aspx.
Adoption of the 2013 Clermont County Tax Budget is a statutory requirement and, as such, begins the county’s 2013 budget process. This budget does not provide spending authority for departments, but sets the groundwork for the 2013 appropriation discussions that will continue throughout 2012. The annual appropriations, which occur later in 2012, will reflect the actual amounts approved for departmental expenditures.
