I'm sure surrounding cities and city councils would welcome this incredible, charity-driven and economy-boosting race!! What a pity, for Loveland and for the Loveland families that have run it all these years. I agree, however, if Loveland can't see the incredible benefits of this race, find someone who will! Move the race, and let us continue to have fun and give back!!
I just recently moved to Loveland... the reasons I moved 1) the bike trail 2) the appearance of a small town feel 3) the variety of events in Nisbit Park not the least of which is the Amazing Race. I'm very concerned that I may have made a mistake...
How sad and pathetic that something as wonderful and for CHARITY is thrown around like a political football by a bunch of politicians with money problems, who give themselves raises to boot. Vote them all out.
Loveland holds many events in the downtown area. How many of those events are being asked to pay additional permit fees?
It is very hard for somebody looking at this situation from the outside to know exactly what's going on. Loveland is indeed a very nice place to live and visit. The Amazing Race is one event on one day of the year. It seems short-sighted and counterproductive to decide not to visit or move to Loveland over this issue. That only results in loss of benefits to yourself, the businesses and residents of Loveland - all due a situation over which they have no control. Leave the politics to the parties involved.
