Milford City Manager, Jeff Wright Responds to Amazing Race Leaving Loveland
Halloween Edition of the Amazing Race Will Also Move this October to Downtown Milford.
Dear Loveland Magazine,
Thank you for offering me the opportunity to comment:
The City of Milford is proud and pleased to be chosen as one of the host communities for the 2013 Amazing Race. Miami Township and Milford cooperate and collaborate very well together, from our elected officials down through every department, and I think that resonated with the Race Committee. Milford has made several recent improvement to our park system, our downtown has experienced a renaissance of new businesses and restored buildings over the last few years, and Miami Township has long had one of the best park systems in the region.
We are also pleased that the Halloween edition of the Amazing Race will be moved this October to downtown Milford. I think our selection is a testament to the strength and diversity of the many restaurants and stores in historic, downtown Milford. The two Amazing Race events and the new Milford Adventure Challenge taking place this September 22 amplify how well our community is situated for these types of athletic challenges, festivals and community events. Milford is quickly being recognized as a vibrant, premier community along the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail and the Little Miami River.
As illustrated by the recently approved Riverwalk townhome redevelopment of the former lumber site on the banks of the Little Miami River in downtown Milford, the relocation of the 3M manufacturing facility to Milford and the relocation of the Jeff Wyler Automotive Family corporate headquarters to Milford Parkway, the region has learned of the incomparable pro-business attitude and quality of life that Milford residents have known of for a long time.
Sincerely,
Jeff Wright
City Manager, City of Milford
