Saturday, August 4 - 9 AM to 5 PM
Milford, Ohio is where outdoor enthusiasts often cross paths near the junction of US 50 and the Little Miami Scenic River. On August 4, artists will join bicyclists, hikers, paddlers, walkers, and shoppers to explore the scenic natural world of outdoors Milford. They will apply oils, watercolors, pastels, and acrylic paint to capture on canvas scenes of historic buildings, barns, houses, gardens, and, of course, scenery along the Little Miami River.

The Greater Milford Events & Arts Council (GMEAC) has announced that the Ohio Plein Air Society (OPAS) is returning to Milford for the 4th Annual Paint Out, Saturday, August 4. “En plein air” is a French expression which means
in the open air, and particularly describes the act of painting outdoors usually in one sitting.
Forty to 50 artists of various styles take advantage of the Milford paint outs. Beginning painters as well as career artists and students of all skill levels are welcome to join the Milford Paint Out. Miami Township resident and plein air painter, Nancy Achberger, is again coordinating the paint out.
Painter registration begins at 8:30 AM at Padrino’s Restaurant, 111 Main Street, Milford, Ohio. The artists will pick up maps and points of interest before venturing out with their easels and paint.
The public is encouraged to come to Milford during the paint out to watch and interact with the artists. At the end of the day the paintings will be displayed and ‘for sale’ at the Wet Paint Sale in Memorial Park.
GMEAC will have an information center in Memorial Park, 401 Main Street, for spectators interested in observing the artists at work. The renovated park with the new 59-inch-tall Obelisk fountain is near the Riverside Park restrooms. Many local eateries including a coffee shop, cafes, restaurants, a doughnut bakery, and a cupcake bakery are a short walk from the park. About 3:30 PM, the artists will bring their paintings to the park for a wet paint sale. Convenient parking is plentiful on Water Street.
