The Loveland-Symmes Fire Department recently completed the Insurance Services Office’s (I.S.O.) Public Protection Classification (PPC) following a 6-month self-assessment process and 3 days of an intense on site assessment by peer assessors from the Insurance Services Office.
It’s been almost 17 years since the last I.S.O. assessment and The L.S.F.D. has announced it has maintained its I.S.O. Rating of “2”.
I.S.O. rates communities fire protection on a scale of “1” – “10” with a rating of 1 being the best.
Of the almost 2800 Ohio fire department’s evaluated by I.S.O. in the past year there where no departments that received a rating of “1” and only 31 departments that received a rating of “2” This places the L.S.F.D. in the 99th percentile for the State of Ohio.
Nationwide I.S.O. rated 47,242 in the last year with 653 Class “2” departments and only 61 Class “1” ratings. This placed the L.S.F.D. in the 98th percentile nationwide. The L.S.F.D. protects over 13 square miles in the City of Loveland, and Symmes Township Ohio.
