"These gold and proud employees,” is how Burke Byer, co-owner of Byer Steel described those seated behind the main stage. His Carthage recycling company hosted the visit on Tuesday morning of Vice Presidential hopeful Paul Ryan. Byer talked about the history of the company, back to when his grandfather immigrated from Russia in 1906, “In hope of a better life.” He also talked about 2012 and what he sees as government obstacles in the future continued success of his company. “Our foreign competition is not playing on the same playing field as we are.”  See related video below...
