Dear Loveland Magazine Readers,
Have you ever heard of Cool School? Have you had a student attend the Cool School program? If so, you will know what an asset this program is to our student community. We all know that there are parents who work diligently with their kids. We also know that there are parents who work very hard at their jobs and have less time to help support their student with school work. Cool School helps those kinds of students and parents.
Cool School is an after school support program which meets twice a week. It helps students with organization, studying for tests, homework…But it does more than that. It provides attention to those students who need that extra caring and supportive touch. High School students, college students, and members of the community freely give of their time to offer that kind of support.
This program is looking for a coordinator of its volunteers. I know you are busy, but perhaps you know of a retired teacher or parent who would love to take this job on. The rewards of being that person are the smiles on kids’ faces and their body language that tells you that they are proud of what they have done.
