Loveland, Ohio - Businesswoman and resident, Paula Oguah spoke at the Gospel Fest that was held at the First Missionary Baptist Church on August 26 about her desire to save the Loveland Predestinarian Baptist Church on Chestnut Street. She asked the gathering for help.
Oguah explained that the citizens of Loveland now own the 118 year-old landmark, but that City Administrators plans to demolish it and make Chestnut Street a four-lane road. She told the parishioners that those plans may involve taking their church property to make way for the new roadway, and demolishing all the homes that remain as well. The First Missionary Baptist Church is planning to construct a new sanctuary next to where the road would expand. Pastor Chris Hamilton said he was unaware of the City plans until he was informed the day before.
