At the Board of Education business meeting on October 16, board members had the opportunity to review the district’s five-year forecast. Outside consultant Ernest Strawser with Public Finance Resources, Inc. presented the data. He compares Loveland's spending with similar districts, and the challenge of constraining spending. He talked about where the District's income comes from and how long it will be adquate to maintain current services.
“We are not on the ballot this year, and we won’t be on the ballot next year because we have been able to extend the 2011, 3.5 mill tax levy into 2014,” said Brett Griffith, Loveland treasurer. “We continually look every day to see where we can cut expenses or avoid them altogether, and so far our efforts have been met with success.”
The five-year forecast can be found on the Treasurer’s page of the Loveland School website.
