Dear Loveland Magazine Readers,
Samuel is my grandson and I am tremendously proud of him. (Loveland Intermediate's Samuel Wenger Honored as "Kid of Character")
As a teacher of pre-teens and teens for thirty-six years I know how important kids like Samuel are to any classroom, school, neighborhood, and ultimately our society.
Children of his age are going though multiple changes and trying to figure where they belong. Kids want to fit in and some find putting others down as a means of fitting in and self-promotion.
I am thankful for our schools' emphasis on character education and anti-bullying. I am thankful for his parents who modeled the importance of character to their three children before they even attended school. Finally, I am very thankful for students like Samuel who understand the lessons taught at home and school and become a blessing to others.
Sincerely,
Margaret Wenger
