Marge Henderson has been selected as the 2013 Valentine Lady. Henderson will assume the role of the Valentine Lady, currently held by Jan Ranard, at the 2013 Valentine Program Kick-off to be held on January 5. Henderson retired from Loveland City Schools with 35 years of teaching experience. She and her husband, Jim, have two sons, Brad and Matt, and two grandchildren. Henderson also serves on the Loveland Arts Council Board and is an active member of the Loveland Woman’s Club.
The Loveland Area Chamber of Commerce's Valentine Program began in 1972 and has grown over the years to include a variety of Valentine community activities, as well as a nationally-known cachet stamping and postmark program. Valentines are hand-stamped with a unique cachet, which is modeled after the year's winning card, and then hand-cancelled with a special Loveland, Ohio, postmark. Each year, the Chamber re-mail thousands of cards to all 50 states and many foreign countries. They also stamp wedding invitations throughout the year.
