The
Loveland School District announced 67 students at Loveland High School
have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement
on AP Exams.
“Our
students’ performance on the College Board’s Advance Placement Tests is a true
reflection on the exceptional preparation Loveland High School students receive
for college-level work,” said Dr. John Marschhausen, Loveland superintendent.
“Our students, parents, counselors and teachers all play an important part in
the academic growth of our students. Our entire Tiger family should be proud
that 67 students have earned this honor. This is a perfect example of how
Loveland is preparing the students of today for tomorrow.”
The
College Board’s Advanced Placement Program® (AP) provides willing and
academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous
college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit,
advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. About
18 percent of the more than 1.9 million students worldwide who took AP Exams
performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar Award.
“Each
year we are expanding our AP offerings,” said Marschhausen. “Loveland offers
both traditional AP courses and digital AP courses. We are proud we are able to
provide students with many options in order to challenge each student to reach
his/her highest potential.”
The
College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’
performance on AP Exams.
