The Little Miami select women's choir will again go for the gold after they became the first group in the world to register for the 2014 World Choir games, to be held in Riga, Latvia.
Choir director Sarah Baker made the announcement at the choir's concert held earlier in December, when she and choir booster representative Susan Brose presented a check for the $650 registration fee to World Choir Games representative Lori Lobsiger.
The LMHS select women's choir earned a silver medal in the championship competition for Youth Choirs of Equal Voices at this year's World Choir Games held in Cincinnati. In Latvia, Baker said the group plans to compete in three categories: female chamber choir, musica sacra and popular music.
The next two years will allow for the group to prepare their program as well as raise funds for the trip. Their appearance in Latvia will be made at no cost to the school district.
