Neighborhood witnesses say they saw a white male walking in the neighborhood the night of the murder. With the help of a sketch artist from the Cincinnati Police Department, the witnesses described to Miami Township Police what the man looked like.

The Department emphasized that any sketch may not be a accurate depiction of a person’s actual appearance. However, they urge that if the person looks at all familiar, please contact them know the person’s identity.
“This man was not recognized by the people who saw him. It’s not clear if he may be a visitor to the neighborhood, a witness to the crime, or somehow involved with the murder,” said R. Steven Bailey, Miami Township Chief of Police. “We would like to know who he is and to speak with him.”
Paul Leiter was killed Monday night around 8 PM. when somebody shot into his home through a window from outside the house.
Investigators from Miami Township Police Department continue to work through the evidence gathered at the scene, and other information that may be helpful in the case. “We are running down several possible alternatives that could take us to a more concrete lead in the case. Right now we have several possibilities to consider and we want to make sure we examine each one thoroughly,” said Bailey. “We are getting excellent assistance from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification, and several other agencies. Coordination of multiple resources will be a key aspect of this investigation.”
