"Last year I raised just under $1,200 to shave my head."
- Chris Huening
Three Loveland teachers – Chris Huening, Leah Evans and Todd Lighthall – and Loveland High School (LHS) Principal Chris Kloesz, have teamed up to take on a special cause; the team will shave their heads in the name of children’s cancer research for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
“I became involved initially because my wife helps organize the event,” explained Chris Huening, LHS teacher and team organizer. “Since 2006, she has helped raise more than $100,000 for St. Baldrick’s. In the past, I only attended the event, and I was moved at the sacrifice people made to raise the money. I decided last year was the time to act, and I raised just under $1,200 to shave my head; this year, I’ve formed a team of teachers to join me.”
The team has already surpassed last year’s total. If you are interested in attending, the teachers and Principal Kloesz will participate in the Sunday, March 10, event at The Pub at Rookwood. If you would like to donate to support the team, visit http://www.stbaldricks.org/teams/mypage/81134/2013.
