By Chad Hilliker, Loveland City School District superintendent
When I first became an educator 22 years ago, it was the smell of freshly sharpened pencils and chalk on a blackboard that would remind me of the start of school; times have changed. Today, students power up their personal computing devices and teachers deliver lectures to video cameras to share lessons in virtual classrooms. It’s the new way we do business, and for the first time Loveland has a way to share a more complete story about what happens in our district with you.
This fall, the Loveland City School District joined forces with more than 20 school districts throughout Ohio to release the Quality Profile. This report, which can be accessed on the district website at www.lovelandschools.org defines 10 accountability measures that outline a high-quality education including: academics, arts, commitment to improvement, digital learning, fiscal stewardship, parent and community involvement, staff leadership, student activities, student leadership and student services. My hope is that you will take the time to take a look at how we manage the investment you make in our future – our children. My belief is that you will be impressed with what you see – a dedicated team of professionals committed to truly preparing students for tomorrow, today. My goal as the superintendent of the district is to ensure our district continues to evolve to deliver excellence in the fast-changing environment in which we operate.
Good bye blackboard; hello SMARTboard.
And, if this Quality Profile is your first glimpse of what happens inside the walls of the Loveland City School District: welcome. We are glad you are here!
If you have any questions about the district, I encourage you to contact me.
Dedicated to the future of our students,
