Loveland, Oh. - Each year, The Loveland Initiative is the host of a community-wide, Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.
Building on the theme and quote from Dr. King, “Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase" the event will feature a recognition speech and award, honoring Epiphany United Methodist Church and Northstar a Community of Grace church, by Terrie Puckett president of The Loveland Initiative.
There will also be several local spiritual speakers, Pastors McCraney, Kerwin and Smith from Ebenezer Second Baptist Church, Epiphany United Methodist Church, and Northstar a Community of Grace church. In addition, the Angels of Praise Youth Dancers, Northstar a Community of Grace Dance Team and their Worship Team. The Epiphany United Methodist Church Praise Band, and the Oxford Gourd Drum Ensemble and Cincinnati Drum and Tribal Dance will also perform.
The event will be held at Northstar Church 11020 S. Lebanon Road on Sunday, January 19, from 5:30 until 8:30 PM.
The MLK Day Celebration is a potluck dinner and is free and open to the public. You are encouraged to bring a dish to share as you join your neighbors in celebrating the birthday of one of America's most important spiritual and inspirational leaders.
The Loveland Initiative is a 501 (c)3 public charity, has served the Loveland community since 1996, and is located at 901 Mohican Drive Loveland Ohio, with a mission to educate and assist low-income children and their families; it currently provides support to families living within the Loveland City School District.
