Cheshire will also represent Ohio at the international level
Loveland, Oh. - Loveland Clerk of Council, Misty Cheshire, was sworn in as President of the Ohio Municipal Clerks Association (OMCA) on April 23. The OMCA is the professional association of municipal clerks from cities and villages across the State of Ohio.
As President, Cheshire will preside at meetings of the OMCA and its Executive Committee and supervise the activities of the Association. She will also represent Ohio at the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC) Conference in Milwaukee, WI, next month.
Cheshire said, "I won't earn a salary but OMCA will pay for my registration fees, lodging and travel expenses for the conferences I attend during my term, including the international conference in Milwaukee next month."
She said there exciting things in the year to come for the OMCA, including OMCA organizing an IIMC region conference this fall that will host clerks from Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. In the past OMCA held conferences in the spring and fall. Next year they will discontinue the spring and fall conferences and hold one conference in the summer. OMCA will also offer 4 one-day eduction sessions around the state of Ohio. Cheshire also said, "We will be updating the look and content of our website."
Cheshire was hired by Loveland in December 2008, and she moved to Loveland in March of 2009 with her husband Brian, son Nate, 17, a senior at Loveland High School (LHS) and daughter Olivia, 15, a freshman at LHS.
Cheshire has been president of the LHS PTO for the past three years, co-chair for After Prom in 2013, and she is an “Ambassador” for the Loveland area Chamber of commerce.
At city hall Cheshire is also Executive Assistant to the city manager. She said that other things she does at city hall is help with events like the Frog Festival, July 4, Senior Expo, concerts and movies in the park. She also serves as secretary for City committees; the Veterans Memorial Committee, Sidewalk Appeals Board, and the City Records Commission.
