The King of Kings (nicknamed "Big Butter/Touchdown Jesus") was a 62-foot (19 m)-tall statue of Jesus on the east side of Interstate 75 at the Solid Rock Church, a 4000+ member Christian megachurch near Monroe, Ohio. It was destroyed by a lightning strike and subsequent fire on June 15, 2010.
This photo was taken on Friday, June 13, 2014 as a full moon rose overhead.
"It's pretty rare for these two events to fall on the same day. The last time it happened was October 13, 2000. The next time will be August 13, 2049," according to Vox.
Found around the Internet, are these nicknames for the new statue:
Hug me Jesus
5 Dollar Foot-Long Jesus
Jesus and the I-75 Orchestra
It's the one that got away Jesus
Yay! Middletown. If we're going to be famous, let it be for the things that other people shake their heads at Jesus.
