Let's celebrate the women farmers “out –tilling” in the fields and putting local, nutritious food on our tables!
Grailville & Edible Ohio Valley Magazine, in partnership with Turner Farm, are excited for our third annual celebration of women in agriculture—and of the tasty food they provide us! Spend an evening at Grailville feasting on excellent local food and showing your support and encouragement to the women farmers in the tri-state area. Grailville has a long tradition of women in agriculture from our beginning in 1944 until today and we are pleased to take this time to honor those women who helped to pave the way and those who continue to work the land!
A beautiful meal will be prepared by local guest chef, Frannie Kroner of FEAST and Sleepy Bee Cafe, that will incorporate locally-sourced ingredients provided by the women farmers we are celebrating as well as from other community growers and local sources, like Green BEAN Delivery. The meal will also feature local wine from Valley Vineyards and dessert from local bakery, Bon Bonerie. There will be plenty of time to converse and network with folks interested in fresh and local foods and with the people who bring them to our tables, including specially invited women farmers, both beginning and seasoned. We will also be able to kick up our heels with some great music from local female musician, Susan Pepper. The evening is designed to encourage the coming together of women farmers with the community they nourish. All are welcome to this celebration of food and the women who grow it!
