Washington, D.C. – Congressman Steve Chabot (R-Ohio) on Monday released the following statement:

“If Vladimir Putin wants to know why the relationship between the United States and Russia is at a low point, then he should look in a mirror.  Putin is a bully and a thug, and certainly no friend of the United States.  He has violated international law by invading Crimea, continues to support brutal dictators like Bashar al-Assad in Syria, and he has attempted to use cyberattacks to undermine democratic institutions, not just here, but across the globe.”

  1. “Anyone who supports him cannot be considered an American.”

I didn’t realize a requirement for American citizenship is not voting for Donald Trump. Thank you for teaching us this new fact.

  2. While I agree with and appreciate Steve Chabot’s statement it is insufficient. Every American must repudiate Donald Trump’s actions and statements at Helsinki and his ham handed attempt to rewrite his statements there.

I am a life long republican but am not a Trumpian. Anyone who supports him cannot be considered an American. His actions are treasonous and those who don’t forcefully take action against this person who acts in this interests of his own ego and against the interest of American will certainly be held accountable by history and at the voting booth!
