SuperintendentChadHillikerBy Chad Hilliker, Loveland City School District superintendent

 Dear Class of 2016,

It may not seem possible, but you have finished a journey you started some 13 years ago. We have been fortunate to watch you be part of a group that has forever changed Loveland City School District. Your list of accomplishments are many, but more importantly you have made our community a better place. You have truly lived a school career where you remember that – in the words of Mother Teresa, “…we belong to each other.”

You have belonged to each other as a community. You have consistently worked to serve our community. Most loveland-sweetsnotably, this past year when you participated on Senior Service Day. Continue to make the world around you a better place. Never be afraid to serve others to get this accomplished.

Throughout your time at Loveland you developed friendships that will last a lifetime. You have literally laughed and cried together! Make sure you take the time to continue to grow as friends. You will surely expand your group of friends along the way.

You have belonged to a group that cares for others. Many of you can think of times where you have been there to care for a friend. Never stop!

You have helped others know they belong. Countless times I have seen you reach out to others to make them part of your “group.” Look for ways to include people to make them part of your world.

[pull_quote_right]We have seen how you truly live the concept that we belong to each other.[/pull_quote_right]Finally, we have seen how you truly live the concept that we belong to each other. To belong is essential to our lives. As a class you have belonged – you have fit into a group naturally, and made it better. You have made an impact that you will never directly see. There are younger people who have watched you. They watched what you have achieved academically; they have seen you perform on the stage; they have seen your beautiful artwork; they have seen you compete; and they have witnessed how you include others. They have seen you be Tigers, and they want to grow up to be like you. Thank you for letting us belong to you.

We really do belong to each other. And remember: Once a Tiger, always a Tiger.

We will miss you,
Mr. Hilliker
