What: Clermont County Opiate Task Force will unveil its action plan in response to the county’s heroin and opiate addiction epidemic

Who: The task force is comprised of stakeholders from government, the courts, public health, law enforcement, mental health, education and the recovery community

Why: Clermont County has been identified as a “hot spot” for heroin and opiate addiction in the State of Ohio; numbers of deaths attributed to overdoses continues to climb

Who should attend: Members of the media and public are invited to attend

When: 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26. TONIGHT

Where: UC Clermont Student Activities Center, 4200 Clermont College Drive, Batavia. There is plenty of free parking.

  1. The White House’s website (https://www.whitehouse.gov/ondcp/global-heroin-market) tells us that “Mexico continues as the primary supplier of heroin to the United States.”

    With this fact in mind, might it be more effective to seal the US-Mexico border than continue to focus on efforts that amount to little more than closing the barn door after the horse has bolted? The cartels are using illegals to distribute drugs to America’s youth.
