Miami Township, Oh. – The Miami Township Police Department is now accepting applications for their fall Citizens Police Academy. The 10 week course is typically held every Thursday from 6:30 until 9:30 PM beginning September 10. A graduation ceremony will take place on November 20th.
This program provides an opportunity for citizens to learn about the operations of a police department and various aspects of what it is like to be a police officer. A lot of the training will be hands on. Some of the training topics include: crime scene investigations, tour of the Clermont County Jail, defensive driving, CPR, a visit from Air Care and demonstration of the Jaws of Life.
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old and be willing to submit to a background check.
