Open to the public concert featuring Country Music Star John Michael Montgomery and rising artist Jared Ashley. Former Navy veteran Jared Ashley recently launched Operation Cherrybend  and created the Flight Deck Veterans Group, a national fraternal non-profit organization, to raise awareness for the cause and promote the camaraderie between U.S. Military Flight Deck Services veterans. Before breaking out in the music scene with his debut single “Last Train to Memphis,” singer-songwriter Ashley served four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Independence and USS Kitty Hawk aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf.

The mission of Operation Cherrybend is to thank veterans for their courage, selflessness and sacrifice to our country. “The more we educate the general public about the trials and ongoing challenges of wounded veterans, and veterans in general, the better understanding the public will have in order to meet their needs,” explains Beth Ellis, co-owner of Cherrybend. Twenty-two American veterans commit suicide daily, which Ashley hopes to bring awareness to and change.

WHO:  Country music superstar John Michael Montgomery will be the headlining act, with special guest singer/songwriter, U.S. Navy veteran Jared Ashley.

About Cherrybend Pheasant Farm in Wilmington

Cherrybend Pheasant Farm, in operation for over 60 years, lies on a 640 acre hunting preserve in Wilmington, Ohio.  Ashley participated in a “Kids Hunt For a Cure” event at Cherrybend in 2012 and quickly became friends with the owners and guides at Cherrybend. “Their passion for kids and our veterans runs deep; it just seemed like a natural fit to host this annual event at Cherrybend.  Being able to combine two of my passions during this week long event has been a dream come true for me.” said Ashley.

Operation Cherrybend’s mission is to thank these wounded veterans for their courageous sacrifice to our country, show them how much we care about them now, and that we love and support them long after the uniform has come off.” said Beth Ellis; co-owner of Cherrybend, Ashley’s group feels that each of their incredible stories should be told to give the general public the opportunity to hear those stories. “The more we educate the general public about the trials and ongoing challenges of wounded veterans, and veterans in general, the better understanding the public will have in order to meet their needs.“  Every day, 22 American veterans commits suicide. Those are astounding numbers that Operation Cherrybend seeks to change.
