Dear Loveland Residents, Businesses, and Friends,

It is with some sadness, but mostly happiness, that I tell you that after several months of consideration and discussion with family and friends, I have submitted my resignation as a Loveland City Council member.  I say sadness because as often is the case when one leaves a position, you lose contact with friends and associates that have played an important role in your life, but happiness in the successes and accomplishments that I’ve had the opportunity to witness and be a small part of over my lifetime.

I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to have witnessed the growth and progress of Loveland nearly my entire life.  I remember as a small child when Loveland Heights only had a few houses, when the bridge going into the Downtown was only two lanes, and when many of our subdivisions were being built.  As a student in the Loveland City School District, and later as a staff member at the Middle and High Schools, I’ve witnessed not only growth, but progress that has resulted in an excellent school district.  With these changes, and many more over the years, now, more than ever, Loveland is a very desirable city that continues to grow and be even a more desirable place to live, raise and educate children, to shop and dine at our local businesses, or to be part of one of our many organizations that provide the opportunity to enjoy recreational, historical, artistic, or theatrical events for your enjoyment.  We have much to be thankful for and to be proud of in Loveland.

As I leave City Council, I pray that God continues to bless our City through the efforts of our Mayor and Council Members.  As I’ve experienced, their job can be rewarding, but there are many difficult decisions that they are required to make.

I am very proud of our City and am very thankful to Loveland residents for the opportunity to have served in the positions I’ve held over the years.  To the many voters and volunteers who supported me in the 2009 and 2013 Council campaigns, I particularly want to thank you for your support.  The decision to resign from Council was not easy, as I took the position and the decisions I made very seriously.  But after more than 23 years at City Hall, the last 6 years as an elected official, I feel it is best for me and my family to move on to the next chapter of our life and enjoy a more relaxing lifestyle.  While I’m sure I will miss being part of Council, I look forward to seeing you around Loveland.

Sincerely,

Linda Cox
