Loveland, Ohio – The Loveland City School District in partnership with the Loveland Drug Task Force invites parents to attend a unique drug awareness program – “Right Under Your Nose” – 6:30 PM Wednesday, Nov. 16, 
in the Loveland Middle School (LMS) Auditorium. Designed for an adult-only audience, Right Under Your Nose educates parents, coaches, teachers and caregivers about the unseen hazards children are facing. Topics include substance use, violence, juvenile crime, technology, risky game/challenges and more. Doors open at 5:45 PM and the event speaker will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.
“The Drug Task Force is working hard to provide the community tools for prevention and bring awareness to the rising drug problem in our area,” said Cee Cee Collins, Loveland Drug Task Force chair. “We hope that the community will take advantage of these complimentary programs and help us fight this battle!”
In addition to the presentation, participants will also have access to information about various resources available for drug addiction, mental health, and preventative programs around the community. All in attendance will have the opportunity to enter a raffle at no charge to win one of various donation baskets sponsored by Loveland-area businesses.
“The ultimate goal for Right Under Your Nose is to instill hope and compassion for adults about topics involving high-risk behaviors, substance abuse, and underage drinking,” said LES Teacher and Drug Task Force Program Coordinator Kirby Jonas. “We are working to bring our Tiger Family together, and through education understand how to care for our students who could be struggling with these issues.”
Background:
During the 2014-15 school year, the Loveland City School District formed a task force in partnership with the Loveland community that would ultimately culminate into the Loveland Drug Task Force. The Right Under Your Nose presentation is part of a $14,000 grant the Loveland Drug Task Force was awarded to implement drug and alcohol prevention programs for students for the 2016-17 school year.
