Miami Township, Ohio – Squire William Knepp, Miami Township’s Town Crier, is stepping down soon from the position he created several years ago. Mr. Knepp hopes that a resident of Miami Township, “who has a large amount of civic pride, is a believer in the Constitution, and possesses a loud voice and charming presence” would be interested and committed in carrying on the tradition of a Town Crier.

This is a voluntary, unpaid position that includes duties of participating in local parades and attending functions such as grand openings.

Current Town Crier Knepp would provide some training and resources to obtain a town crier uniform and bell and would also provide the selected person with an initial membership in the

American Guild of Town Criers.
