During Chief Sabransky’s tenure with the City of Loveland, he served on many committees including the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police Education Committee, the Great Oaks Police Academy Police Advisory Committee, the Lexipol Peer Review Group for Ohio Policy Development, and serves as a subject matter expert for the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy on the Development of New Chief’s Training. He also served as a member of the Hamilton County 911 Preservation Task Force, and has been a mentor for the Loveland Adult Mentor Program (LAMP) at Loveland High School.

Chief Sabransky received a Bachelor’s Degree from The Ohio State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Cincinnati. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute 109th Administrative Officers Course and a graduate of the Certified Law Enforcement Executive (CLEE) program. Chief Sabransky has been an adjunct instructor for the University of Cincinnati and has instructed numerous classes for the Tri State Regional Community Policing Institute and the Scarlet Oaks Police Academy.

Loveland, Ohio – After eight years awith the Loveland Police Department, Police Chief Tim Sabransky will retire October 18.

Sabransky began his career with the City of Loveland as Assistant Police Chief in January of 2007 and became Police Chief in July of 2008.

Sabransky started his policing career in 1983 at The Ohio State University where he was a patrol officer and member of the Special Response Team. In 1986, he joined the Cincinnati Police Department where he served in Districts 1, 2, and 3, Training Sergeant at the Police Academy, Planning and Research Section as a Police Officer, Sergeant, and Assistant Commander, Police Officer and Sergeant in the Mounted Patrol Unit, Personnel Director, and Assistant Commander of the Inspections Section. While at Cincinnati PD, Chief Sabransky was promoted to Police Specialist in 1992, Sergeant in 1995, and Lieutenant in 2001.

City Manager Dave Kennedy told Loveland Magazine, “Sean Rahe will be appointed the acting Police Chief effective October 19. We are still working out the details for filling the position on a permanent basis.”
