More than 100 Loveland Elementary School (LES) fourth-grade students headed into downtown Cincinnati for a social studies learning lab they are sure to remember at the Cincinnati Museum Center Wednesday, March 18. It wasn’t simply a standard tour; LES Teacher Andy Price turned the visit into a scavenger hunt!

“We hoped students could see immigration studies come to life through the activities in the learning lab,” said LES Teacher Brandie Carter. “We hoped students could get a deeper appreciation for and understanding of what life was like for an immigrant entering America in the 1800’s and early 1900’s. We hoped students could make connections between content they have learned at school and the exhibits in the Cincinnati History Museum.”

Before the end of the year, all fourth grade students will get to experience learning at the Cincinnati Museum Center to support curriculum standards in social studies.

“This is a PTA-sponsored field trip,” said LES Principal Jennifer Forren. “We are so thankful that our students are able to experience this type of learning environment due to the strong partnership that exists between our parents and our school.”
