Up-date from April 14

With the Spring Sports season at Loveland High School off and running it’s time that we showcase some great team and individual performances so far. Updated Records for each team are as follows Men’s Baseball (3-8, 1-5 in the ECC), Women’s Softball (2-9, 1-4 in the ECC), Men’s Tennis (9-1, 3-0 in the ECC), Women’s Lacrosse (4-2, 2-1 in the ECC), Men’s Lacrosse (2-6, 2-1 in the ECC), and Men’s Track is 3-1 and Women’s Track is 4-0.

Team Highlights (Big Wins):

The Loveland Men’s Baseball team had a big win over Anderson at Anderson with a score of 12-6. The Loveland Women’s Softball team had wins over Walnut Hills with a score of 15-3. The Loveland Men’s Tennis team has huge wins over St. Xavier and Seven Hills with the score of both matches being 3-2. The Loveland Women’s Lacrosse team wins big over Indian Hill at Indian Hill with a score of 12-9 and the Loveland Men’s Lacrosse team, big win over Milford at Milford with a score of 17-7.

Individual Highlights:

Emma and Coley Christian are the only siblings in Loveland Women’s Softball history to pitch in the same game (this took place on Monday April 8th at Kings).  Matt Huether became just the 15th Loveland Men’s Tennis player to eclipse 50 wins in a career and now sits at 54 (12th all time). Katlyn Kramer has officially become the first Loveland Women’s Softball player to hit a homerun onto the Tennis courts during a game. Katlyn currently has 4 home runs on the season and is hitting .406 with 11 RBI’s.

Up-date from April 22

The Loveland Men’s Tennis team is having a record season. The team currently sits at 11-2 (5-0 in the ECC) and is ranked 4th in the city and top 20 in the state. Over the course of the last four seasons Loveland’s team has improved moving from 3-10 (1-5 in the ECC) in 2016, to 10-5 (4-2 in the ECC) in 2017, and to 14-5 (4-2 in the ECC) last season.

Loveland Men’s Tennis Head Coach, Jeff Sharpless, is approaching 100 career Men’s Varsity wins. He currently sits at 99 career coaching victories and can achieve his 100th if the team beats Turpin on Tuesday, 4/23. (Loveland won the match 4-1)

All of the 7 Varsity starters on the team currently sit at above .691 win percentage. Updates on individual records include: Connor Ruble (12-1, 25-13 Career), Sam Greenberg (10-3, 29-24 Career), Joey Kapszukiewicz (9-4, 9-4 Career), Matt Huether (10-3, 56-26 Career), Alex Ditchen (10-3, 35-21 Career), Cameron Smith (9-4, 13-6 Career), and Ethan Libby (10-2, 16-5 Career).

The team looks to continue their successful season and looks to bring home their Second ECC Championship (first since the ECC’s inaugural season).
