LPS first grade student Phillip Rider wears a Loveland Firefighter uniform as part of a fire safety presentation
Fire safety 101
Loveland, Ohio – Sitting in front of his class, Loveland Primary School (LPS) student Phillip Rider was a model firefighter, literally. The first grader wore layers of firefighting equipment, as he demonstrated the uniform firefighters wear when working. The Loveland Fire Department made the class possible, volunteering their time to present a lesson in fire safety.
“This is exactly the type of community interaction our students can benefit tremendously from,” said LPS Principal Kevin Fancher. “It is powerful for students to be in the presence of professionals and get to hear such an important safety message. We are grateful to the firefighters for making this class happen.”
In addition to the uniform, students also had the opportunity to see a fire truck up close.
