Every Tiger will be cared for and supported; that is our sincere hope

by Keith Koehne

Assistant Superintendent, Loveland City School District

At the Loveland City School District, that is also the promise we aspire to make to you. It’s a commitment so intensely important to our teachers, staff, administrators and Board of Education, we made it one of our “big three” district goals for the 2016-17 school year: Care. It is relationship building – in every classroom, every lunchroom, every playground and all of the arts, athletics and extracurricular activities in between – this is the foundation of how we will help all students manage the unique challenges and pressure that greatly impact their personal development and academic success. It’s a big task, and not easily measured… but that is just what we intend to do.

From Tuesday, Oct. 11, through Monday, Oct. 17, in association with the nationally recognized Gallup Student Survey, every student in the district will have the opportunity to participate in telling our administration the true climate of their classrooms. The survey, administered in buildings at age-appropriate levels, will measure not just student hope, but also student engagement, entrepreneurial aspiration, and career/financial literacy as it relates to student perception and attitude towards school.

We want you – our Tiger Family – to understand how sincere our mission is to Prepare Students for Tomorrow, Today; we know for that mission to be fulfilled every Tiger will need to have the academic, social and emotional skills to plan and achieve… to understand that they are cared for. This survey – and the results it will provide to us – will only enhance our ability to see how best to serve our students in this capacity.

Thank you for allowing us to care for your children; they truly are our hope for the future.

Many Stripes; One Tiger –
Keith Koehne
