Loveland, Ohio – City Manager, Dave Kennedy said in a January memo to city council that a benefit of the Certified Local Government (CLG) Program, in addition to assuring that historic structures are properly protected, is that CLG communities are eligible for CLG grant funds. These funds can be used for a wide range of preservation, identification and survey projects.

Kennedy further explained, “The City of Loveland has a very rich history. A process for assuring that improvements to the city’s historic structures are done such that the city and neighboring structures are protected could be beneficial for the long term preservation of the community. Additionally the use of CLG funding can be of assistance for future preservation efforts.”

Kennedy will be holding an informational meeting on the Ohio State Historic Preservation Office’s Certified Local Government Program (CLG). The meeting is Wednesday August 5, at 7 PM at Loveland City Hall, 120 W. Loveland Avenue. (Read more about the meeting.)
