Takata air bags installed in tens of millions of U.S. vehicles are subject to recall due to a safety defect that may cause their inflators to explode and cause serious injuries or deaths. If your car or truck is included in this list of affected vehicles, contact your dealer for the appropriate repair. This site will be updated as necessary to ensure that NHTSA keeps affected vehicle owners informed.

Recalls Look-up by VIN – Vehicle Identification Number
Owners may not always know their recalled vehicle still needs to be repaired. NHTSA’s new search tool lets you enter a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to quickly learn if a specific vehicle has not been repaired as part of a safety recall in the last 15 years.

Protecting the people you love is your #1 priority.

Click on the button below to use our VIN Look-Up tool to see if your car is under a recall.

Choose the make of your car to find out if your vehicle is affected. The list of affected vehicles by priority group for repairs can be found here (PDF 168 KB).

NOTE: This list does not yet include vehicles in the May 4 announced Takata recall expansion. It will be updated to reflect the expanded recall when this information is available. Please sign up for NHTSA’s Recall Alerts to be notified when you can search for all vehicles affected by this recall using the Recalls Lookup Tool.
