On Monday, October the 24th, Loveland Varsity women’s soccer continued their journey into the State Tournament. The team bested Anderson 3-0 at Princeton High School, and will compete next at Bellbrook High School on Thursday, the 26th at 7 PM against Sidney High School for the districts title.

Loveland had previously beaten Anderson 3-0 in September, but the team opted to take on higher-seeded Loveland. Anderson ended third in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference, with a conference 3-1-3 win-loss-tie. Loveland holds 7-0-0 win-loss-tie in the ECC.

By halftime, both teams were deadlocked with a score of 0-0. However, towards the beginning of the second half, Loveland’s Ashlin McGill scored the first goal of the game. With ten minutes remaining, Brooke Harden scored the second goal. With less than three minutes, Loveland scored their final and third goal. Anderson failed to score.

Loveland women’s soccer wins ECC, begin tournament season

Loveland will challenge Sidney this Thursday in the hope of progressing from districts to regionals. Loveland is 16-1 overall, while Sidney is 13-2-2. Even if Loveland claims districts, the team would still need to win four matches.
